Tammy MacIntosh als Sr. Annie Rogers

 

Tammy wurde am 16. Februar 1970 in Melbourne geboren. Ihre Eltern kamen aus Dublin. Als sie 3 Jahre alt war, verstarb ihr Vater. Mit 8 Jahren kam Tammy in   ein Pflegeheim und mit 16 zu Pflegeeltern. Sie verlebte keine besonders schöne Jugend und sie weiß nicht, ob ihre Mutter noch lebt. Tammy’s Pflegeeltern leben  in Perth. Ihr Pflegevater ist Schauspiellehrer. Aber Tammy ist ein Naturtalent, sie nahm nicht eine Stunde Schauspielunterricht. Mit 19 bot man ihr die Moderation für ein Jugendprogramm an: “C’mon kids”. Das machte sie 6 Monate lang.

Gleich danach folgte bereits die Rolle der Schwester Annie Rogers bei den “Flying Doctors”. Schon nach einem Jahr hörte Tammy bei den “Fliegenden Ärzten” wieder auf. Sie hatte einen neuen Vertrag für die Mini-Serie “It’s now or never”. In der Serien “Chances” war sie 1991 die Mandy Foster und in der Komödie “Bingles”, übernahm sie 1992 die Rolle der Stacy. “Col’n Carpenter” brachte ihr eine Gastrolle ein, 1993 war sie in “The Feds: Betrayal” Nicola Bass. Ihren bis dahin größten Erfolg hatte sie mit der Serie “Police Rescue”, in der sie ab der 2. Staffel die Rolle der Kathy Orland übernahm. Diese Rolle spielte sie   bis 1994. Die Serie war in Australien sehr beliebt und hat viele Fernsehpreise gewonnen.

1995 drehte Tammy McIntosh in der ersten Staffel des Fernsehfilm “McLeods Daughters” die Claire McLoed. Es geht in dem Film um 2 Halbschwestern, die sich erst nach 22 Jahren begegnen. Der Film spielt auf einer Viehfarm im Barossa Valley und zeigt wieder einmal eindringlich, wie schön und aber auch hart das Land Australien sein kann. 1996 spielte Tammy in dem paedophilen Drama “Whipping boy” eine aufreibende Rolle. Es geht um einen Prozess von Kinder- pornographie. Sie spielt die Rolle der Seal, einer Polizistin, die Bodyguard für eine Rechtsanwältin ist. Danach spielte sie in “River Street” die Sharon und eine Gastrolle in “G.P.”. In der Serie “Wildside” übernahm sie 1997 die Rolle der Detektivin Kim Devlin. Nachdem die Rechte für die Serie “Wildside” an die   USA verkauft wurden, machte sich Tammy auf den Weg dorthin, um eventuell  eine Karriere aufzubauen. Leider war diese nicht von Erfolg gekürt. Sie kehrte wieder nach Australien zurück und sagt selbst, dass sie für ihre Karriere keine faulen Kompromisse machen will. Es war eine gute Erfahrung für sie und sie  denkt an eine internationale Karriere, aber nicht um jeden Preis.

“Something in the air” war 2000 für Tammy als Christine Rutherford ein großer Erfolg. Melita Jurisic und Terry Gill, aus der Serie “Die fliegenden  Ärzte”,  waren mit von der Partie. In “Grass Roots” war sie ebenfalls in mehreren Epi- soden die Marilyn Hennessy. Diese Serie ist ähnlich wie die “Flying Docs”, nur ohne Ärzte. Es geht um Geschichten in einem kleinen Ort in Victoria, der eine eigene Radiostation hat. Meistens trifft man sich - ähnlich wie bei Nancy und Vic - im Pub. Die Rolle des “Girl F” spielte sie 2000 im Film “Better than sex”. 1999 und 2001-2002 ist für Tammy die TV- Serie “Farscape” als Joolushko “Jool” Tunai Fenta Hovalis eine neue Herausforderung. Danach startete sie 2002 in der Rolle der Melissa in dem Sience Fiction-TV-Film “Jeopardy”. In der Serie “All Saints” hat Tammy MacIntosh seit 2003 als Dr. Charlotte Beaumonts eine Dauer- rolle übernommen.

Sie war Botschafterin des jährlichen “Mothers Day Classic”, bei dem für die nationale Brustkrebs-Stiftung gesammelt wurde. In der US-Comedy “Repetition II” spielt sie 2005 die Rolle der Anell. Tammy verliebte sich in Mark Yeats aus Sydney und heiratete ihn. Am 01. August 2006 wurde ihr  Sohn Benjamin Rhys Butler Yeats geboren. Tammy kehrte nach kurzer Baby-Pause als Dr. Charlotte Beaumont in ihre Serie “All Saints” zurück.

2010 war Tammy als Commander Maxine 'Knocker' White in “Sea Patrol” zu sehen. 2011 ist Tammy in der Komödie “A hearbeat away” als Grace Flack zu sehen. 2012 spielt sie eine Rolle in “Miss Fisher`s Murder Mysteries”.

Privat erlebte Tammy 2012 ein großes emotionales Highlight - ihr mittlerweile 5jähriger Sohn Ben hatte seinen ersten Schultag: “Ich dachte, ich habe jetzt habe ich kein Baby mehr. Ich denke, er wird an seinem ersten Tag ein bisschen nervös, aber ich werde ihm einen Kuss geben und Kuscheln und versuchen, ihn so zu behandeln, als ob es irgendein anderer Tag ist - obwohl mein Herz  rast, und es werden Tränen  auf der Rückseite meiner Augen sein. Ich werde am Nachmittag wieder zurück vor dem Tor sein. Du  bekommst diesen Moment  nie zurück.”

Tammy MacIntosh

Tammy was born in Melbourne on February 16th, 1970. Her parents came from Dublin. When she was 3 years old, her father died. With 8 years Tammy came to    a nursing home and with 16 to foster parents. She did not spend particularly beautiful youth and she does not know whether her mother still lives. Tammy's foster parents live in Perth. Her foster father is a play teacher. But Tammy is a natural prodigy, she did not take play lessons an hour. With 19 one offered her    the moderation for a youth programme: "C`mon kids". This she made for 6 months.

Just after that the role of the nurse Annie Rogers already followed at the "Flying Doctors". Already after a year Tammy stopped at the "Flying Doctors" again. She had a new contract for the mini-series "It´s now or never". She was Mandy Foster in 1991 in the series "Chances" and in the comedy "Bingles" she took on the role  of Stacy in 1992 . "Col'n Carpenter" gave her one guest role, 1993 she was into "The Feds: Betrayal" Nicola Bass. She had her greatest success until then with    the series "Policy Rescue" in which she took on Kathy Orland's role of the 2nd echelon. This role she played till 1994. The series was of great popularity in Australia and has won many TV prizes.

1995 Tammy McIntosh shot in the first echelon of the television film "McLeod`s Daughters" the part of Claire McLoed. It is in the film all about 2 half-sisters  which meet only after 22 years. The film plays in the Barossa Valley on a cattle farm and shows once again insistently how beautiful and but also hard the country Australia can be. In 1996 Tammy played an attritional role in the paedophilen drama "Whipping boy". It is all about a process of child pornography. She played the role of Seal, a policewoman who was bodyguard for a lawyer. After that she played the Sharon in "River Street", and a guest role in "G.P.". In the series "Wildside" she took on the role of the private detective Kim Devlin in 1997.   After the rights were sold to the USA for the series "Wildside", Tammy made herself on the way there to perhaps build up a career. Unfortunately, this was not chosen by success. She returned to Australia again and says herself that she does not want to do bad compromises for her career. It was a good experience for her and she thinks to an international career but not at all costs.

"Something in the air" was a great success for Tammy as Christine Rutherford in 2000. Melita Jurisic and Terry Gill from the series "Flying Doctors" were on her side. After that she started 2002 in Melissa's role in the Sience Fiction TV film "Jeopardy". In the series "All Saints" Tammy MacIntosh has taken on a duration role for Dr. Charlotte Beaumonts since 2003.

 

She was an ambassador of the annual "Mothers Day Classic" at which she collect- ed for the national breast cancer foundation. In the U.S. comedy "Repetition II" she played the role of Anell in 2005. Tammy fell in love in Mark Yeats from Sydney and married him. Her son Benjamin Rhys Butler Yeats was born on August 1st, 2006. Tammy returned again in her series "All Saints" after short baby break as   Dr. Charlotte Beaumont.

2012 Tammy saw a large private emotional highlight her now 5 year old son Ben had his first day of school: “I think he`ll be a bit nervous on his first day, but  I`ll give him a kiss and cuddle and try to treat it as though it`s any other day  even though my heart will be racing and there will be tears at the back of my eyes. I`ll  be back at the gate in the afternoon. You never get that moment back.”
