Fanclub

Again and again, was asked after the benefit event in the Bielefeld beginning of 1995, for which Lenore Smith and Lewis Fitz-Gerald arrived, why is there no German club given for the "The Flying Doctors" series.

According to thorough consideration and the thought through this to support the genuine RFDS, Renate founded the `Royal Flying Doctor Fanclub Germany´ on August 5th, 1995. It was renamed into "Royal Flying Doctor  Service of Australia Fanclub Germany" later.

The membership subscription amounts to 25.00 euros and is valid of the day of the booking entrance for a year. Two fanclub booklets from approx 100 sides,   the June and December issue, are contained in the contribution. The articles are both in German and in English since the members are represented worldwide. The liberal admission also is included in the contribution for the fan meetings. The meetings take place into Münster to 98% last Saturday in August once a   year and the official appointment is informed about on time in the June fan issue.

The fan booklets always contain contributions of the Royal Flying Doctor  Service and its population next to reports on the series actors of Australia and over the country Australia, too. Renate has built up contact to some actors over all the years. In addition, a good contact to the Alice Springs Base who was supported to 2000 of the club and to the Adelaide House in Alice Springs arose. The contact remained also after the base change to Broken Hill which was in a difficult economic position at that time. Today, Renate almost is in Broken Hill  at home.

The most important quality of the club is well the financial support of the real Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. All what does is collected by donations and by the annual meeting, everything gets the RFDS Base Broken Hill.

The letters of thanks and the other RFDS contact are always represented in the  fan books. It is a pleasure of being able to give this supports. It is completely unselfish because we are not a registered association and therefore can not issue any donation receipts either.
