Diese werden in Emmas Garage dauerhaft an die Wand gehängt. Es sind noch 9 verfügbar bei $ 300 australischen (Einer wurde bereits verkauft).
Offensichtlich der Name und die E-Mail-Adresse der Spender in der ersten Instanz, der Name und die Postleitzahl in der zweiten, und ein gutes Foto wird in der letzten benötigt werden.

EMMA’S GARAGE – in the heart of Coopers Crossing – is in need and the Flying Doctors fans can help!
Here is how you can help funding the repairs of Emma’s Garage and how your donation will be honoured:
1. Any donation of and over $20 Australian will be acknowledged by emailing to the donor a personalised certificate of thanks from Emma's Garage.
2. There are two items for sale.
The first being, when the repairs are completed an internal wall will be dedicated which will have the name and postcode of the purchaser permanently
fixed to the wall. There are 27 places left available at $100 Australian (3 have already been sold).
3. The second item for sale is a black and white photo of the purchaser/s mixed in with similar sized black and white photos of out-take scenes from the Flying Doctor TV series. These will be hung permanently on the wall in Emma's Garage. There are 9 remaining available at $300 Australian (one has already been sold).

Coopers Crossing
Im Jahre 1983 beschloss Crawford Productions eine Serie zu produzieren, in der der Royal Flying Doctor Service, die Hauptrolle spielen sollte. Gestartet wurde zunächst mit einer Mini-Serie von 6 Folgen im Jahr 1984. Diese Mini-Serie hatte solch großen Erfolg, dass Crawford sie sieben Jahre weiter produzierte und es wurden insgesamt 221 Folgen gedreht. Für den Drehort Coopers Crossing wurde Minyip ausgesucht. Der Ort liegt im Bundesstaat Victoria und hat ca. 500 Einwohner. Er wurde die Basis der "Fliegenden Ärzte" und noch heute findet man auf Schritt und Tritt Er- innerungen an diese Dreharbeiten.
Der 1971 erbaute Seniorentreff "Senior Citizen’s Club", wurde als die "Flying Doctors Base" verwendet. Hier lag vor allem die Arbeit von D.J. und Claire Bryant und war der Treffpunkt der Crew. Es gibt zwei Hotels in Minyip, “The Club” und “The Commercial”. “The Club” kennen wir als “The Majestic Hotel”. Hier trafen sich bei Vic und Nancy immer die RFDS-Mannschaft und die Bewohner von Coopers Crossing. Der Store von Violet Carnegie wurde 1897 erbaut und es war das erste Gebäude in Minyip, das Spiegelgläser hatte. Hier kaufte man ein, zuerst bei Violet, dann bei Maggie.
Die St. John’s Lutheran Church wurde 1935 vom ursprünglichen Standort in Kirchheim, 6 km südwestlich von Minyip, mit einer Dampfmaschine zur Church Street nach Minyip ver- setzt. In dieser Kirche wurden Emma und Sam getraut und Pater Jacko hatte dort sein Domizil, wenn er in Coopers Crossing war und nicht mit dem Flugzeug durch seine Gemeinde unterwegs war.
Die Garage von Hurtle, die später seine Nichte Emma übernahm, wurde 1908 als Pferdemarkt gebaut und im großen Hof wurde der Pferdehandel betrieben. 1989 wurde das Gebäude durch einen Sturm schwer beschädigt, aber die Fassade konnte erhalten werden. Hier arbeiteten auch Marty, Nick und Steve.
Der Pavillon gegenüber des “Majestic Hotels”, wer erinnert sich nicht? Hier fand so manches Treffen statt, wichtige Gespräche, klärende Worte ausgetauscht, oder einfach nur die Ruhe gesucht.
Die Coopers Crossing Memorial Hall war der Ort der Feste, der Versammlungen und Lebewohl-Feiern. Hier konnte man auch Vic hören, der jede Menge Lieder auf Lager hatte. Das Ereignis des wiedergefundenen Tagebuches in Hurtle´s Garage wurde hier groß gefeiert. So manches altvertraute Gesicht aus der Serie sah man wieder.
Der Flughafen von Coopers Crossing, von wo aus die Nomad startete, befand sich nicht in Minyip sondern in Point Cook (RAAF Base) in der Nähe von Melbourne. Die Nomad - wer hört es nicht noch: "Victor Charlie Charlie ruft Mike Sierra Foxtrott" - war der eigentliche Star aus der Serie "Die fliegenden Ärzte". Ohne sie hätten die Ärzte ihre Arbeit nicht ausüben können, denn es hieß weite Strecken zurückzulegen, um die Kranken zu versorgen. So manches Abent- euer haben wir gesehen und viele gute und schlechte Schicksale miterlebt.
Die Spuren der dort gedrehten Serie "The Flying Doctors" sind in Minyip heute noch sehr lebendig. Es fanden immer wieder Spring-Festivals statt, bei denen die Erinnerung an den Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia aufrecht er- halten wurden. Der Erlös dieser Festivals ging an den RFDS Broken Hill. Um das Ganze für die Bevölkerung aus Nah und Fern interessanter zu machen, versuchte man Stars aus der Serie zu gewinnen. Das Festival vom 18.-20. Oktober 1996 hatte Val Jellay als Stargast vor Ort, da es sich um eine offizielle Ehrung für ihren verstorbenen Gatten Maurie Fields handelte. Val nahm die Dokumente entgegen. Der Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Fanclub Germany war ebenfalls vertreten.
Minyip ist mit heute ca. 400 Einwohnern eine verschworene Gemeinschaft. Hier kennt Jeder Jeden und man hält so manches Schwätzchen. Sie versuchen alle Gebäude zu erhalten, die seinerzeit so eine große Rolle in der Serie spielten. Das ist aber sehr schwer und aus finanziellen Gründen fast unmöglich. Das alte "Coopers Crossing & District Hospital", das Krankenhaus in Minyip wurde in- zwischen abgerissen und durch ein dringend benötigtes, modernes Gebäude ersetzt, ergänzt mit dazu gehörigen Alten- und Pflegeabteilungen für altersgerechtes Wohnen.
Entfernungen sind hier im Outback in Australien kein Thema. Man fährt locker mal 120 km, um bei Freunden Kaffee zu trinken und einen Schwatz zuhalten. Sicher ist, dass immer wieder Fans nach Minyip kommen, sei es um den Drehort kennen zu lernen oder inzwischen gewonnene Freunde zu besuchen.
Coopers Crossing
In 1983 decided Crawford Productions to produce a series in which the Royal Flying Doctor Service should play the leading role. At first they started with a mini-series of 6 episodes in 1984. This mini-series had such big success that Crawford seven years further produced it and altogether 221 episodes were turned. For the location Coopers Crossing Minyip was chosen. The place is located in the federal state Victoria and has approx. 500 inhabitants. It became the base of the "Flying Doctors" and one finds memories of these shooting on step and kick certainly today.
The 1971 senior meeting built "Senior Citizen's Club", was used as the "Flying Doctors Base". The work of D.J. and Claire Bryant lay here primarily and was the meeting place of the crew. There are two hotels "The club" and "The Commercial" in Minyip. We know “The Club Hotel” as “The Majestic Hotel”. Here the RFDS team and the inhabitants of Coopers Crossing always met at this place of Vic and Nancy. Violet Carnegie´s store was built in 1897 and was the first building in Minyip which had mirror glasses. Here one shopped, first with Violet, then with Maggie.
The airport of Coopers Crossing where the Nomad started from, was not in Minyip but in Point Cook (RAAF Base) near Melbourne. The Nomad, who does not still hear it? “Victor Charlie Charlie calls Mike Sierra Foxtrot”, was the real starling from the series "The Flying Doctors". Without the Nomad the doctors would not have been able to perform its work, because it was called to do long ways to be able to bring care for the sick persons. So we have seen many adventure and much good and bad fates.
The traces of the there shoot series "The Flying Doctors" are very alive in Minyip today certainly. Spring festivals took place, which maintain the memory of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia were again and again. The proceeds of these festivals went to the RFDS Broken Hill. To make the whole for the population from near and far in a more interesting way, one tried to win stars over for the series. Val Jellay as a star guest was on the spot on the festival of 18.-20. October 1996. It was an official honour for her deceased husband Maurie Fields. Val accepted the documents. The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Fanclub Germany also was represented.
Minyip is a sworn community with today approx. 400 inhabitants. Everybody knows everybody here and one keeps many a chat so. They try to preserve all buildings which played a large role in the series at that time. How- ever, this is almost impossible and out of financial reasons. The hospital in Minyip the old "Coopers Crossing & District Hospital" was pulled down meanwhile completes and replaced by an urgently required, modern building, with geriatric and care departments belonging to it of living suitably for ages.
Distances are not here a topic in the Outback of Australia. One drives loosely 120 km to drink coffee with friends and keep a chat closed. It is sure that fans come to visit Minyip again and again to be got to know around the location and to won friends, or meanwhile have.
